The Wacky World Of Golf Cars

Best Golf Car Friendly Vacations

Summer is in full swing and it is the perfect time to enjoy the beautiful weather while cruising around in your golf car. You may be planning a vacation or two. Most vacation destinations have golf cars for rent, but what if you want to bring your own? Is it even possible to bring your golf car with you on vacation?

We did some digging and discovered some cool vacation spots where golf car owners are permitted to bring their own golf car.

Peachtree City, Georgia

Located south of Atlanta, Peachtree City is a laid back town designed for golf car usage. Most households own at least one golf car and more than 90 miles of golf car paths reach every part of the town. Vacation rentals are plentiful in Peachtree City. Choose from a lovely Bed and Breakfast, a small, rustic cabin, or a modern apartment. There is a rental for everyone in this town, which is dripping with southern charm. If this sounds like the perfect place for you, load up your golf car and hit the road.

Arcadia, Florida

If your golf car has a lift kit and big, beefy wheels and tires, a vacation to Arcadia, Florida may be perfect for you. Located east of the Gulf Coast of Florida, Arcadia is a small historic town and home to Peace River Campground. The campground has a mile of shoreline on the Peace River and is ideal for fishing or water sports. Boasting 160 acres of Florida landscape, they encourage you to bring your golf car and enjoy the miles of trails. Arcadia is also home to the All-Florida Championship Rodeo, if that is your thing. Load up your toy hauler and head down to Arcadia, Florida to test out your offroad golf car.

New Smyrna Beach, Florida

Have you ever driven your golf car down a spectacular sandy beach? If not, head down to New Smyrna Beach where driving on the beach is a time honored tradition. In the 1800’s horses and buggies trotted down the beach. When the first cars hit the market, the new owners headed to New Smyrna Beach to show them off. Beachfront car races were popular in the 1930s during low tide. Today, golf cars regularly cruise down the hard packed sands of New Smyrna Beach. Park your golf car beachside, pull out your chairs and cooler and relax in the Florida sun.

The Imperial Sand Dunes

If you love sand, but prefer sand dunes to sandy beaches, check out The Imperial Sand Dunes, aka Glamis. Glamis is the largest off-highway vehicle recreation area for sand dunes in the US. The sand dunes extend 40 miles long and 5 miles wide. If you have tricked out your golf car to be a sand buggy, you will feel at home during your vacation to Glamis.

There is no need to leave your golf car at home when you head out on vacation. Enjoy your favorite mode of transportation even while traveling the country.
