Founded by the son of the legendary founder of Lamborghini, Ferruccio Lamborghini, Tonino is a different company to the one that makes supercars based in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The company is looking to target markets like the USA, Canada, Middle East, Australia, UK, France and Germany with the Indian-made products. At the announcement of the joint venture company in February 2018, Kinetic said that the golf cart segment is growing at over 7.5% CAGR and has a global market size of 300,000 units led by sales in North America and Europe.

In an interview with, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder & CEO of Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions, says that they started the company with a lot of passion and conviction, and are one of the pioneers in the Indian EV sector. The battery prices in 2015 were around $800 per kWh, which has come down to under $200 now.

“Our models are being designed by Italian designers with a very different kind of sensibility. They do not look like a typical golf kart. We plan to launch it in the market by November (2020). It will be developed in India and the US will be a key focus market. Right now we are looking for distributors there. Some of them are already Lamborghini associates. We might enter the Middle East first and later on we might even set up an assembly unit in the US.”
